Testing cosmetic products on animals seems like such an archaic concept that it's difficult to believe some companies are still choosing to do it.  One reason many manufacturers still test on animals is so they can reach their market in China.  China—expected to have the world's largest beauty market in a few years—requires animal testing on all imported cosmetics.  In contrast, countries in the European Union prohibit animal-testing on any imported products.  I admit, in the past I have not bothered to check if the cosmetic products I purchase are ethically sourced/tested.  It may seem tedious and time-consuming to look up every product you purchase to see if they're ethically-conscious.  Luckily, I’ve saved you the time and noted the most well-known brands not testing on animals, so you can apply your contour worry-free.

Fortunately, the number of companies that still condone animal testing is growing slimmer each day.  Eventually, animal testing will become obsolete due to technological developments which create models from human skin cells to replicate skin, eyes, and other human organs.  There's a bright and beautiful future ahead for cruelty-free makeup fans.
