College Women for Social Justice

Female Founders Fund (F3 for short) is an early stage venture capital firm in NYC that invests exclusively in female-led businesses. To help us keep a pulse on what is exciting in the market, we're recruiting female students at leading U.S.-based undergraduate universities to participate in the inaugural F3 College Fellows program. ABOUT THE PROGRAM This College Fellows program has been designed to help us collect insights from Gen Z consumers who can better serve us as investors and the companies that we are backing. The structure and asks of the program continue to develop as the needs of the fund and portfolio companies grow and change. As a 2018-19 F3 College Fellow, you will be expected to participate in one activity approximately each month, with the expectation of earning 14 total credits (minimum) over the course of the year. These activities, which include responses to surveys (2 credits), focus group participation (3 credits), and volunteering opportunities (2 credits), have been created for the following purposes: 1) To capture your insights about what technologies and businesses are successfully tapping into the university market i.e what are the latest technology tools/apps that you and your peer group are using on a regular basis. 2) For feedback on the products and services being developed by companies in our investment portfolio and deal pipeline. 3) To support the larger female founders and women in tech ecosystem via the fund’s community efforts. For students who are interested in business, entrepreneurship, communications, design, technology, or venture capital, this will give you on-the-ground training in assessing new apps and services, while teaching you how to think critically about the value proposition and design of products that you interface with in daily life. BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS F3 College Fellows will be exposed to a world-class professional network that most students do not encounter until they have entered postgraduate programs. As beta-testers, all Fellows will gain experience working alongside the engineering and design teams of leading tech startups, have an opportunity to mingle and meet with inspiring entrepreneurs, and get to know some of the country's leading investors. In addition to network access, the F3 College Fellows program offers students an opportunity to hold a "role" in the tech industry across the entirety of their college career. Fellows will also receive exclusive discounts, invitations to events, and early-access to internships and job opportunities from within F3's growing portfolio. APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS 1) Must be a current female undergraduate of a 4-year accredited college or university based in the U.S.A. 2) Must earn 14 credits throughout the year, through either responses to surveys, volunteer opportunities, and/or attending a focus group. 3) This program is ongoing (not limited to the academic year), open to students across all universities, and we ask that each Fellow participates for 12 months.
