It’s a common belief that all women should be between a size 0-6.  Fact:  the majority of women in the world are not between a size 0-6.  Key lesson for today (and the rest of your life) is to learn to fall in love with your body.  Happiness stems from accepting yourself and your body the way you are and realizing not everyone can be a Victoria Secret model.  If you have curves, work them.  Don’t hide yourself because you think you’re not the mythical ideal image of a woman.

Having more confidence in yourself will take you as far as you want it.  When people see you showing off what your mama gave you, they’ll also see a confident human being as well. (And it will encourage them to feel confident about their body.)  This applies not only to romantic relationships, but also to friendships and the workplace as well.  There are a lot of keys to happiness, but the most important one for your health is learning to love who you are and what you have.  With that, however, it’s important to remain physically healthy to contribute to a happy heart and strong mind.

In the fall and winter seasons, being healthy can be the furthest thing from people’s minds.  With candy at Halloween, Grandma’s cooking at Thanksgiving, and pies galore at Christmas, you’re almost bound to give in and overindulge during the holidays.  Accompanying the large amounts of delicious food is a low motivation to eat healthy and remain active because of the colder weather.  Nevertheless, it’s imperative to keep moving.  Working out in any capacity has proven to have a positive correlation with a healthier attitude and mind in the fall and winter seasons.

Cold weather can be depressing, which is understandable.  I think all of us would  rather light a candle, stay in, snuggle up in sweats and watch Netflix.  But, while this is okay sometimes, it shouldn’t be your nightly routine from September to March!  Here’s my winter weather workout regime that will get you motivated and keep you going:

Monday / Wednesday / Friday

45 minutes of cardio.  Whether it’s walking or running, get on a treadmill or go outdoors, and walk it off.  You’ll feel happier when you do.

Accompany this with either an ab workout consisting of 3 minutes of bicycle kicks, 3 minutes of sit-ups, and a 3-minute plank to strengthen your core.

Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday

Pick 8 resistance exercises involving your legs, arms, or abs.  Do 15 repetitions each and complete for 30 minutes.  I like to focus on one part of the body each day such as:

Tuesday - Legs
Thursday – Arms
Saturday - Abs

This may seem like a lot, but in reality, it’ll keep you fit and help you learn to love your body even more!  So, don’t be lazy this fall and winter!  Love who you are, but also realize your heart and mind need to be strengthened as well!
